As our British Keelboat League fans will already know, we had to cancel Queen Mary, Cardiff Bay and Royal Corinthian BKL events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking ahead and we face a myriad of uncertainty. We cant begin to fully understand the complications that may arise when we do finally come out of lockdown and all makes for very uncertain times indeed. With this, all in mind and the somewhat compromised league already the British Keelboat League committee have reached the tough decision that the 2020 BKL qualifying series should be cancelled.
We are still planning a three day British Keelboat League event; this will be the weekend that would have been the final at Royal Southern YC. If we can go ahead, we would encourage all club to nominate a team and come and take part; it should be a terrific weekend for all involved. More information will follow!
Moving forwards, we plan to open our 2021 bidding process for hosting BKL events and using the RS21 fleet this June. We would very much like to work with you and would encourage you to submit a bid a be part of this amazing league.
Our thanks must go to all hosting clubs for their support and commitment to the BKL, we know the work and dedication club staff and members put into making these events the success they always are and truly appreciate the passion and effort from everyone involved. We will be back bigger and stronger than ever next year!
